About.

I am an Associate Professor of Financial Technology and Information Systems at Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), The University of Manchester. Previously, I was an Associate Professor at Loughborough University and a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, San Diego.

Through my research, teaching, and business engagement, I address some of the most pressing challenges posed by digital technologies in contemporary capitalism.

My current research agenda explores the following topics: AI-driven market power; sustainable AI; ethical fintech; fintech policymaking; digital transformation.

I adopt an interdisciplinary lens at the intersection of Information Systems and Political Economy, examining not only the technical aspects of digital innovations but also their business, societal, political, and environmental implications.

My research ethos is to produce rigorous and impactful work that advances the sociotechnical perspective in Information Systems.

I have published my work in Information Systems Journal and Review of International Political Economy, among other scholarly journals. You can read all my publications in the research section.

I am committed to knowledge mobilization between academics and practitioners, using my research to promote responsible, sustainable, and ethical applications of AI and fintech. I serve on the Fintech Committee at Pro-Manchester and am a member of the UK Fintech Academic Network at Innovate Finance.

I am an experienced and enthusiastic educator. I am the Program Proposer and Director of the MSc in Digital Transformation at The University of Manchester.
